The Site of Community Importance Nad vinicami is located within the municipalities Smolenice and Horné Orešany, with a total surface of 0.5 hectares. It is declared for the purpose of ensuring a favorable state of the habitat of European interest the semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on a calcareous substrates (representing important habitats for orchid species). It is also declared to ensure a favorable state of the species of European interest – the Eastern lizard orchid (Himantoglossum caprinum). This species is an ecotone species and therefore is often found on the stony edges of vineyards or in margins. Other rare orchid species are here represented by the Lady orchid (Orchis purpurea),  Violet Limodore (Limodorum abortivum), and the Late Spider orchid (Ophrys holubyana).

The land that is part of the protected area was previously used as vineyards, gardens, and later extensively as pastures. Currently, most of the area is overgrown with shrubs and trees, sometimes with invasive non-native black locust, and only a small part is occasionally mowed. These areas are also frequently dug up by wild boars or browsed by roe deer on flowering plants.

To ensure the further existence of the Eeastern lizard orchid, mowing at least once every two years and harvesting of hay, partial reduction of overgrowth of woody vegetation, removal of invasive black locust with disposal of sawn material, and protection against browsing by wild animals is necessary.

The occurence of various invertebrate species is particularly rich. Among the more significant species are the praying mantis (Mantis religiosa). The fauna of vertebrates is represented by species such as the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus), slowworm (Anguis fragilis), sand lizard (Lacerta agilis), and green lizard (L. viridis).
