From several ground squirrel localities in Slovakia, they tell us that the squirrels are already waking up.
We wish them good morning and a successful year to the ground squirrel population.
We will take action also this year, graze new territories, plant fruit trees and solve other problems to save ground squirrels.
This year, thanks to the LIFE Sysel project, instead of 20,000 groundhogs, 28,000 individuals will wake up. The population has increased by 8,000 individuals since the beginning of our project. And we are working on further strengthening it.
