Last week we co-organized and hosted the Study Tour 2026 of the European nature conservation network Eurosite at our sites. This week-long study visit was attended by representatives of Eurosite member organizations as well as individual supporters — 21 participants in total from ten organizations across Europe.
The LIFE Danube Floodplains project has been nominated for the prestigious European LIFE Awards 2026 in the Nature and Biodiversity category. In collaboration with Slovak and Hungarian partners, the project succeeded in restoring the water regime of the Danube side arms, securing regular simulated flooding following the construction of the Gabčíkovo dam, and implementing a range of measures to protect and restore floodplain habitats. The public can support the project by voting in the Public Choice Award category.
