We delivered two donkeys to Salaš Šurice
Two donkeys from ZOO Bojnice arrived at Salaš Šurice last week. There is a territory of European importance, declared for the ground squirrel and several other rare and protected animals, called Owl’s Castle.

Volunteers from OZ Permoníci – the geocachers as well as other volunteers visited the locality Pánsky Diel for the 20th time! By their willingness they helped to develop the protection of targetted species and habitats.
Placement of educational panels in Cerová vrchovina
The most of activities, what we are engaged in are predominantly aimed to
grazing restoration that provides the favourable conservation status of dry
and thermophilic habitats. An essential part of project is also propagation
of natural values.
We restore grazing on Fabiánka
In Slovak Karst National Park is located the unique Site of Community Importance Fabiánka. It is a wonderful mosaic landscape with pastures and open forests, which had suffered by grazing abandonment. That led to loss of protected and rare species bounded to non-forest areas.
International award for our movie Land of meadows
Our documentary movie Land of meadows: a forgotten story was streamed on international film festival focused on food production and sustainable development Agrofilm and has won the price Award of the Slovak Agriculture and Food Chamber for the Slovak Film. We are very grateful to the organizers and the jury of the festival for this opportunity…
Serényi’s water tank restoration = grazing restoration
Thanks to the implementation of project actions of LIFE Sub-pannonic on Site of Community Importance Plešivská planina the project team persuaded the owner of the unique historical grazing infrastructure located on the site, the Serenyi water tank, to agree with the inclusion of the water tank in the list of National cultural monuments.
Volunteer’s action on Tarbucka 2.0
In the end of September, the dry-thermophilic pastures in south of Eastern Slovakia was visited again for a second time by volunteers. The Site of Community Importance Tarbucka was established for a purpose to protect and to improve favourable conservation status of species and habitats of European interest.
Danube Islands
Together with our DANUBEPARKS partners, we are launching a new project focused on the entire flow of the Danube, which will bring restoration of the side arms and the revitalization of the islands.
In Cerová vrchovina we built 1 km of fence for sheep grazing
In August, we prepared another fence for sheep grazing, so that ground squirrels would do better. This time, we have built more than 1 km of fencing in the village of Jesenské in the Cerova vrchovina, and grazing on the 4.4 hectares of ground squirrel locality can begin.
