In August, we prepared another fence for sheep grazing, so that ground squirrels would do better. This time, we have built more than 1 km of fencing in the village of Jesenské in the Cerova vrchovina, and grazing on the 4.4 hectares of ground squirrel locality can begin.
The sheep have already tried it, but the ground squirrels are already slowly going to hibernate, so what you already know today, they will only find out in the spring.
We will graze the sheep on the site in cooperation with the local farmer, who also owns the land on which the grazing will take place.
From the LIFE Syseľ project, we helped him introduce pasture in this location and thus help adapt this area to the demands of ground squirrels.
