[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The level of the Danube has risen by about 4 meters in recent days. This brought life-threatening floods to the landscape and nature of the Danube region. The Danube broke and the river spilt into the surrounding countryside. It gained nutrients, deposited sediments, washed the banks. It moved the amounts of gravel and sand that rolled in the bottom and the huge trees that flowed with her across the surface. It launched landscape changing processes in style. Many plant and animal species are linked to these processes. Unfortunately, they don’t happen often today.<\/span>\r\n\r\nAnd the water in the land that flows in front of our eyes during the floods is a huge gift for us humans as well. And it will be even greater in times of advancing climate change.<\/span>\r\n\r\nWe should learn to look at it like that again and free up space for the river where it needs it.
